Piazza San Marco or Saint Mark's Square is located in Venice and is the central gathering area of the city. It is very popular with tourist, this is why "il gazzettino" or Piazza San Marco's local police are getting strict with people's dress codes. If you walk around Saint Mark's Square shirtless you will get fined 25 Euros, over 100 people have been fined since 2007.
People show a little Respect, just because it's 100 degrees and Italians don't believe in air-conditioning, there is no room for stripping.
